Automatic Edge Breaking

After CAM Machining, an unwanted burr can occasionally be found that have straight edges or non-tangent outer surface topologies - risking the functionality of the part or endangering the users due to its razor sharp nature.

  • Edge breaking operation creates a deburring toolpath on the other edges of a geometry.
  • A fully automatic tool path can be created by just selecting the part geometry, with additional features like Automatic Feature Detection, Linking, Lead-In and Collision Avoidance.
  • Ball mill cutters and quality geometry input (mesh) are required for the detection feature to work as intended.

Automatic Edge Trimming

Edge Trimming operation uses a highly automated algorithm to create a tool path that trims the edge thin materials of machined parts to get their final shape.

  • Various options for position definition of the tool relative to the geometry is available, from 3-axis output to more complex 5-axis output with different tool axis orientation.
  • Axial shift feature enables the tool to be engaged with a certain value into the material.
  • The edge trimming operation can be fully automated or user defined, offering a variety of corner handling functions to ensure a smooth tool path creation.
