What is SWOOD?
SWOOD is a software suite designed specifically for the woodworking industry. It is integrated with SOLIDWORKS and offers two main modules: SWOOD Design and SWOOD CAM.
- SWOOD Design: This module is used for designing wood products, such as furniture, cabinetry, and other wooden structures. It includes specialized tools for creating wood joints, panel management, hardware insertion, and parametric design specific to wood construction.
- SWOOD CAM: This module focuses on the manufacturing aspect, providing tools to generate CNC machining programs for woodworking machines. It supports various operations such as cutting, drilling, milling, and edging.

How to Install SWOOD Design and CAM
1. Install SOLIDWORKS on your computer if it is not already installed. SWOOD requires SOLIDWORKS to function.
2. Run the SWOOD Design installer executable file that you obtained.
- If Windows doesn’t allow to, click “Run anyway”.
3. Follow the on-screen instructions provided by the installation wizard.
- Click Next to start the installation.
- In the “Customer Information”, you may fill in the information or leave it empty. Click Next.
- For “Products”, choose whichever that you would like to install and click Next.
- Click “Install” to start installing and wait until it finishes.
4. Once all steps are completed, finish the installation process.
5. Open SOLIDWORKS after installing both SWOOD modules.
- Choose “I want to activate my product SWOOD Design now”.
- Choose to “Activate/Reactivate a software license”.
- If the PC is connected to the internet, choose to transfer it automatically. Key-in the Serial number and email address. Click “Next”.
- Click “Finish” to finish the activation.
6. Go to the “Tools” menu in SOLIDWORKS and select “Add-Ins.”
7. Check the boxes for SWOOD Design and SWOOD CAM to enable these add-ins.
